I saw that helicopter today around the Plaza!  Everytime I see a helpcopter now, I always wonder if it's someone from this site taken photos.

As for this thread, I wish there was a smiley to really show how I'm feeling right now!!!  But, let me try anyway:

I'm sure I'm not alone here.  Aerial shots like this help me see how big and dense KC really is!  After driving downtown for years, it just seems small because I rarely discover something new, but when you get a view from above, it just looks...dense!  Big!  I love it!

Great Pictures Tosspot. you gave the whole downtown development a new perspective that we hardly get to see from any web cam. I noticed that some of your pics did not get the famous Eric Bowers watermark though. You are starting to get pics that rival grids.

about 2/3 of the way in there's a picture with a building in it that i'm assuming is a church.  it's got two towers on the front with teal covered tops.  where is this church and does anybody know the name of it?

That's between 39th Street and 40th Street on Washington. 1BLK west of Broadway. Can't remember the name of the church but it's very cool.

Upper right corner of pic is 39th and Broadway

Cool pics.  Great for lunch reading.

How many cities in America have a place like this?

That's the white parking garage at 7th and Main being torn down.  To the upper left of the frame is south.

Thanks. Do they have any plans of replacing it with anything yet?

Tower Properties will be replacing all of that with a lovely new surface lot.  Yay!  The Flash Cube building next to the bulldozers was also planned to be torn down due to structural issues, but I've heard mixed stories on that--that they may yet entertain offers or alternative plans.

In a moment of psychic insight, I predict that the new lot will be...yes I have it, blacktop.  No brick here, that would be too frivolous.  There will be a token handful of landscaping medians to break up the hot, radiating asphalt, each with a Bradford Pear tree planted in the middle of it.  The surface lot will actually almost be pretty for exactly 1 week out of the year, while the trees are in bloom.  The rest of the time it will be ugly.

What is that bridge looking thing?  I mean, obviously it's a bridge... but it runs into the building.  What's the deal?  Is it purely pedestrian?  If so, why this location?  Anyone know the story?
