at 5:00 today MKB will be ascending to a roof on the new Star production facility on the northwest part to have photos taken by a Star photog using the Sprint center as a background.

It looks like someone shot out another window pane at the Sprint Center.  I was downtown today and snoticed that one of the window panes on the arena's south side had a spiderweb crack in it with a small hole in the middle.  The pane has just been recently installed, and I doubt that it was a construction accident.  I will go back downtown tomorrow with my camera and get some pictures.

The Kansas City Star would beg to differ.

I saw that cracked window on the Sprint Center yesterday - it was not a gunshot.

There have been a handful of cracked panes of glass during installation - an unfortunate but normal occurance during curtain wall erection.

How many windows have been "shot out" of the Star building since it's become operational?  None, right?

none, nothing's been shot out...glass gets broken and scared suburbanites fear a sniper on the loose. It makes them feel better about where they live.

Rolling Eyes  I'm not sure, but I don't think every single one of Downtown's problems stem from JoCo.

WHAT!??!!??  This comes to light towards the end of the project??  Who's in charge?  Why arn't there at least 6,000 surface parking spaces within 500 feet of the entrance????

I imediately thought out a half dozen retorts to this obnoxiously ignorant post, but none of them would really be in the spirit of the forum so I will let willpower get the best of me.

Rest assured, the Sprint Center is just there for the looks. There won't be actual events inside.  Therefore, no worries about the parking.    Shocked

Besides, there are only several thousand spaces within a 3 block radius.  Many of those could never be found by the suburbanites because they are masked or underground.  They are not next to a SuperTarget thus they will never be found.

I assumed you were kidding....there is parking under both blocks directly to the west of Sprint Center...there is a 6 story garage one block north of that...plus so much parking within 3-4 blocks Arrowhead probably couldn't fill it up.

Segway?  If you need help walking 3 blocks might pack your Rascal.

Last pane in the top row of glass now installed.  For all intents the glass installation is complete, aside from the obvious touch up replacements and panes left out for access.

I actually agree here.   3 blocks is nothing for me to walk, but I'm a 30-yr old guy.   A family of 4 with kids in tow, simply won't go if they have to walk 3 blocks.  (Spare the TSC example, that's an open walk causing no fear in people)
