It seems like I was around that age but I'm not positive. Does anyone know what year Lucille's bit the dust?

It could not have been any earlier than 1990 because I unsuccessully hit on a waitress there that year.  Smile

When you guys say "Sidney's," did you mean "Sydney's," the 50s-like diner slightly north of the Plaza? I loved their hot fudge sundaes because they put the hot fudge in paper cups so as not to melt the ice cream.

I just copied and pasted what others listed. I've been away so long, I don't know what has closed.

Sydney's
Italian Gardens
Old Spaghetti Factory
Colony Lobster Pot and Steakhouse
Strouds South
Fedora's
The Bristol
Houlihans
KC Masterpiece
Golden Ox
Trader Vic's
Annie's Santa Fe
Longbranch Saloon
White Castle

Grinders. I think that's the name. It was on Westport. They shoved meatballs and cheese into a hollowed out hard roll and called the tasty sandwich a grinder. Maybe it's still there? Dunno.

Victoria Station. It was a series of train cars, I believe. Your legs would freeze in the winter.

Syke's Tavern at 59th and Prospect.

Is Ruby's still there? I know Ruby is no longer with us. Her food was fantastic, and so was she.

Ruby's burned about 6 years ago. Corner of Truman & Brooklyn.

Joe's Standard Bar
Auditorium Bar & Grill
Ely's (in Riverside)
Dolce's
Dinner Horn
Stroud's
Benny's BBQ
Griff's (although there is one in Sedalia)
The Villa Capri (on Independence Ave.)
Eddy's Loaf & Stein

Sportster
...that's a short list
