I don't think natasha was ever off that liquor list, probably still listed as part of a re-org or something...but hopefully it makes a return.

Certainly would be nice to have them back.  But it does seem unlikely that this would be the sort of climate where you could talk your way into getting financing to reopen a bar that has already failed once.  keep fingers crossed.

Can't quite say they failed and the distinction is significant.  They made money.  They just got tired of the hard work it takes to make such a place succeed and they chose to move on to other things as the lease expired.

i can tell you that is very true. one of the proprietresses (sp?) was a local actress that would try and get a mutual friend of mine to cast her in stuff from time to time, and she was making a profit. a small one. but it was damned hard work to make the profit, and that got old. one thing people that operate businesses, especially restaurants and bars, fail to realize is, is that you get tired of the stress and get out, and then miss it like hell. addicitve. most lines of work that you initially enjoy are addictive. and when you walk based on the stress, you have a week or two, or a month or two, of reflection followed by wtf was i thinking???

Yeah, I think that applies to a lot of professions. Brett Favre comes to mind.

i would have to ask sid, i think it is missy. tall, blond, athletic built, tended bar, sang queen like no ones business. i met her like 5-6 times, but never claimed her as a friend, that is arrogant to call someone your friend if you dont know em enough to!! but my friend and i actually went there multiple times, she always would introduce me. i actually took a date there ( the date is my wife nowadays!! ) and introduced my darling bride to her, and she was like..............do i know you??!!! until i reminded her.

Yeah, sounds like Missy. She seemed pretty cool the couple times I met her.

Is this place back open?  Had some color changing LED spotlights illuminating the facade last night.

Those LEDs have been shining for about a week, 10 days.  The lights aren't that big, but driving down Main at night, they really draw in your attention.

Heard that the same person has purchased both Bar Natasha and Smoking Joes BBQ (?) on SWBlvd & Baltimore.

Also heard that Missy is slinging drinks and singing at a piano bar in a strip at about 81st and Wornall.

That is all.........

obscenely bright and should be illegal. honestly, i'm not sure why the rest of the neighborhood isn't up in arms considering how hard they fought the LED billboard at 20th and main.

So, are all gay bars going to start having obnoxious LED lighting?  The ones on bar natasha are blinding as you approach from 5-8 blocks away.  Tootsie's at least has them aiming upward instead of into the eyes of drivers.
