Post QuikTrip in NKC Moving to New Building
The QuikTrip in NKC on Burlington is moving to a new building up the street to the north. It's across from Petco.

And it's going up very quickly. I've been driving by there once a week to check out the progress.

BTW, the Taco Bueno is now open at North Oak & Vivion Road.

Sounds like development news must be pretty slow these days.

I rembember when there were at least three quiktrips along Burlington between the river and N Oak, I always found that amusing, almost like Circle K's in Phoenix where those can be across the street from one another.

Are QTs franchises or are they corporate stores?

They are all corporately owned.

Three?
I only remember two.
The south one that's now a defunct Rib Hut and the north one that's being replaced now.
Where was the third?
Course, I can't remember where I parked the damn car half the time!

Wonder if the present one being replaced will stay vacant like the BBQ one?  The south end of Burlington is becoming a ghost town, and the north end is not so great.  Block has been unable to land anyother retail/dining at northgate other than Ruby Tuesday.

I saw this today when I stopped for gas. It really makes me happy since the one up the street is not my favorite pump set up. It can be tricky getting into those spots if the people don't park right.

I love QT and go there almost religiously for my gas. I think it's a set up and coffee thing. As far as gas station coffee goes, there's is pretty good with a little cream.

The new one they're building is HUGE  .

I would say it's at least twice as big as the old one on Burlington, which is undersized for a QT.

I remember when I was a kid there was a QT by our house. We thought it was the best thing ever! And then the bigger QT was built and so quickly we forgot about the old one.

I just like to be able to move around without having to edge my body this way and that to avoid other customers. So I think the bigger is better.

That QT seems to have a lot of business, so bigger would probably be better for them anyway.

Maybe the Star should make that a front page headline calling it "Another business abandons downtown KC" ;)

Looks to me like there's something else going in along side -- they were building forms for additional foundations (looked like) on Friday.

So, how do we change that perception?  Or, can we/should we?  The river is so dividing that you would think there were no bridges spanning it.  In my mind, NKC is a part of downtown.

Who is developing and leasing the strip mall?
